👨‍🔬 Part 4: Advanced

Advanced Info Section

This is a work in progress. I threw my draft in here for now, just so that you can get the general info. I'll expand on these concepts on a future update

  • Heath and Wellness

I really do believe in what you put in preparation. Post rave recovery isn't really talked about much, and I feel

  • Before festival
    • Clean my place/apartment. It's a great feeling to come back to a clean place, especially when you'll be spending the next couple of days recovering, unpacking, and getting back to your normal routines.
    • Throw out food that might expire
    • Prep food for when I'm back. Either I'll make food in advance and have in the freezer, or I'll get outside food when I'm back, depending on available time
  • During festival
    • If sleeping a hotel/Airbnb/housing with other people in the same room, I recommend having foam earplugs and a sleeping mask. Sleep is the #1 essential thing to prioritize to ensure a good festival weekend. If someone snores or makes noise (chances increase with the amount of people in the room), earplugs will help ensure you stay asleep. An eye mask will help keep you asleep after the sun rises and sunlight seeps through the blind cracks.
      • Depending on festival hours
    • Using a massage gun. More important if you get shin splits or if you rarely go to festivals and move around
  • Post festival
    • I've been sick everytime after a festival. More on prevention and what I've come to learn about this later
  • Additional words of wisdom/deep personal tips
    • I'm come to realize doing cardio helps you survive a festival by building a base of endurance

Crowd Control

  • With festivals becoming more and more popular, a growing issue is the crowd size at festivals. Although festival organizers have expanded the space used and reorganized layouts to fit things, in recent years, there has been more talk about how crowded things by attendees. I've heard complaints mainly for EDC Las Vegas and EDC Orlando.
  • Here's the thing, there's actually plenty of space. There are pockets of roomer dancing area. You just need to move forward towards the DJ.
  • This is mainly theory based, but backed with my personal testing and observations. I'll expand in the future
